WILDLIFE THEMED LIBRARY
SWOOP INTO THIS COMMUNITY LIBRARY
A small amount of theming can make a big difference. This library wanted to bring more personality and imagination into its main gathering space without undertaking a full renovation.
IDS created a collection of custom bird sculptures inspired by local wildlife, including a dramatic crane soaring overhead and several smaller baby birds flying across the sky-blue walls.
Positioned above the library entrance and main activity area, the installation draws visitors’ eyes upward while adding movement, storytelling, and a touch of humor to the room. Because the sculptures are mounted above floor level, the feature creates visual impact without taking away valuable space for books, seating, or programming.
This project is a great example of how a few thoughtfully placed three-dimensional elements can give a children’s library a memorable identity and bring a little more whimsy to every visit.
